This year NRG went to Vienna, after visiting Copenhagen and Malmö last year. Again it turned out to be an inspiring and energyful study trip. Where visits to Pöyry, Austrian Energy Agency, International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), OPEC, Wien Energie GmbH, ANDRITZ Hydro, VERBUND made the Master Energy Science student more aware how the energy system in Austria is becoming more sustainable.
However, it seems hard for the Netherlands to follow the same path as Austria. Where roughly 70% of Austria’s energy mix for electricity production is accounted to hydropower. It still gave the students new insights on how ‘we’ as future energy specialists can contribute in the worldwide energy challenge.
This trip was made possible with the support of U-fonds. We would like to thank them for their continued support of NRG.
